The holidays are over, and sadly it’s time to put my festive Caravan posters into storage. Save yourself time and money and don’t just throw out your prints and have to print them again next season! Here’s a few tips for keeping your prints safe until you’re ready to hang them again.
The best way to store your large Caravan prints is to use a document tube. You can find them at most art supply stores or on Amazon. They are usually around $20. If you have three or more prints to store, buying a document tube will pay for itself; you will save a tree, a trip to the printers, and printing costs when the holidays roll around again.
To get your prints ready for storing, lay them all nicely on top of each other with the largest on the bottom. Start on one end and roll your prints up nice and tightly.
Now simply put in the tube for easy storage. When it’s time to hang one of your prints again, pull it out. The print will curve from being in storage. All you need to do is lay it out on the floor or a table for a day or so until it relaxes and you are good to go!
These documents tubes can be a bit awkward to store, but I’ve found some great places to hide them in my home without getting in the way. My favorite place it to keep it with my wrapping paper. I tend to need wrapping paper with most holidays, so I’m always reminded of my posters when I get out my gift wrap. Other great places are behind your coats in the coat closet, laying flat on the back of a shelf in a closet, or underneath your bed, or sofa. My mom used to hide cereal boxes under our sofas! That’s valuable storage space!
I hope these tips help you with your large Caravan prints! If you’re like me, and love decorating with the chalkboard art for every holiday, getting a document tube will save you both time and money in the long run.
