Hello Friends. I’m Nicolette, but all my friends call me Nikki. I grew up on an Island and don’t like to eat fish. But I’ll take the ocean over mountains any day.
Q: If you were reincarnated as an ice cream flavor, what would you be?
Sea Salt Caramel Gelato. You know the fancy one in the small pint jar. Yup, that’s what I’d be.
Q: What’s you favorite indoor activity?
I love watching old movies. Color or black and white it doesn’t matter. Some of my favorites are How To Marry A Millionaire, Casablanca, and Roman Holiday. I recently watched The Philadelphia story and really liked too.
Q: What sound do you love?
I love the sound of the ocean. It has an instant calming sensation on my soul.
Q: If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
My first name is actually Nicolette, and I love it. I’d hate to change it, but when I used to give guys a fake name it was always Lani. Lani-Moo is the spokescow for the diary back home. I had an “I like cows” phase is high school, and stole the cow’s name.
Q: What is your favorite day?
As a kid Friday’s were awesome because that meant all the cool T.G.I.F. shows were on. You remember Full House, right? Now I’m a mom and I love Friday all over again because it means we can party for two and a half days before school starts again.
Q: If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
My musical abilities are pretty much nonexistent. When I say pretty much, I really mean not at all. I would love to be able to carry a tune and sing a nice little ditty. Not good enough to be a rockstar, but just to sound pretty when I sing song talk to my kids and husband. I don’t think that’s asking too much.
Q: What was your favorite food when you were a child?
Saimin and hot dogs. Don’t know what saimin is? In Hawaii it’s a staple food everyone eats. Think fresh ramen noodles with a salty broth topped with green onions, a little egg and a small piece of meat. I like a hot dog boiled in with my saimin.
Q: What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?
I haven’t rocked the iPod in a while, but our most frequented Pandora station is the “Love You Like A Love Song” station. Lots of booty shakin’ jams for the whole fam.
Q: What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?
Moving to a small town in a new state. We moved just over a year ago, and some days are still hard. Overall our little family is stronger after going through various trials like making new friends, switching schools and facing below freezing temperatures.
Q: What did you want to be when you were little?
When I ask my kids what they want to be when they say, “Police Woman, Geologist, video game programer…” What did I tell people? A motivational public speaker. Where did I even come up with that?
