Being a mother takes everything and frosts it in possibility. Yes, there are plenty of days when life seems constricted by laundry and dinner making yet again. But then there is the first time your baby smiles or the day your preschooler finally learns how to write an R. They are simple things. But that smile, that crooked ‘R’ and every other little triumph and less help us see the infinite workings behind this thing we call life. Unfettered joy and the age old pursuit of higher knowledge all bottled up in a regular old day at home? How could that not change our lives for the better and the deeper?
Take a moment this weekend to hug your mother, kiss your kids and congratulate yourself on being a part of something grand.
