Hi! I’m Holly Mateer (like material). I manage the blog here at Caravan. I grew up with 3 sisters, I love to sew and I am married to the cutest Scotsman you will ever know!
Q: What was your favorite food when you were a child?
Tomato soup & grilled cheese sandwiches. Except I grew up thinking they were “girl” cheese sandwiches.
Q: What is one of your favorite quotes?
“I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls” – Audrey Hepburn. Wasn’t she just lovely?
Q: What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
The bathroom. I pawn that one off to the hubs. He told me that he hates the bathroom more than I do because he used to clean bathrooms every night for his job freshman year in college. I still make him do it though. Bad wife?
Q: If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?
Jessica Hische. She is a fantastic hand letterer. And she’s funny too.
Q: If you had to work on only one project for the next year, what would it be?
Quilting. I love to sew. (Although, it would probably turn into 20 projects)
Q: What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?
Getting Married. Marriage has been a lot harder than I thought it would be! But, I’ve come to realize that is is quite worth it.
Q: What was the first thing you bought with your own money?
I bought Shrek. The soundtrack. I was so excited to finally buy my own CD after only listening to what my sisters liked that I think I just bought the first thing that I saw!
Q: What did you want to be when you were little?
An Artist. Or and Astronaut. On our first date, I told my husband that and he asked if maybe I just didn’t get past the “A” section while learning about jobs…
Q: Where is the coolest place you’ve ever been?
Wales. So beautiful.
Q: Something most people don’t know about you?
I still have 2 of my baby teeth.
